2 big-time drug suspects nabbed; P1.5-M shabu seized

TWO alleged big-time drug pushers were arrested, while over P1.5 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City, a top police official announced Friday, January 22, 2021.

Police Brigadier General Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested suspects as Ryan Abilla Serato, 26; and Alkidar Sadang Unaid, 31.

Ylagan said Serato was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 4:30 p.m. Thursday at a shopping mall in Tetuan village, Zamboanga City.

Seized from Serato were some 115 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated worth of P1.4 million, 84 pieces of P1,000 bills boodle money topped with one genuine P1,000 bill as marked money.

Ylagan said Unaid was arrested in an anti-illegal drug operation around 5:30 p.m. Thursday in Sitio Bugguk Paniran in Kasanyangan village, Zamboanga City.

Recovered from the possession of Unaid were some 20 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated worth of P136,000 and P200 marked money.

He commended the relentless efforts of ZCPO headed by Police Colonel Rexmel Reyes for its notable accomplishment in the fight against the proliferation of illegal drugs. (SunStar Zamboanga)
