Management meeting poised to boost agrarian reform services in NegOcc

THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Negros Occidental-North has conducted its regular management committee meeting, which is positioned to boost agrarian reform services in the province.

DAR-Negros Occidental I said the meeting attended by the heads of various offices on Thursday, January 21, 2021, aimed to solidify the agency’s targets for 2021, as well as revisit and assess its accomplishments last year.

Also, it is a venue to strategize and synchronize its activities to that of the regional and national offices.

Officer-In-Charge Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Teresita Mabunay, in a statement, said they wanted to strategize approaches in order to further improve the services for the farmers in the northern portion of the province.

“This committee will also assess the department’s programs to better and strengthen our services for our stakeholders,” she added.

Adapting to the “new normal” situation, the activity has complied with minimum health protocols set by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases and Department of Health.

It is a regular initiative of the management to come up with strategies and effective approaches to accomplishing and reaching the agency’s mission to implement the comprehensive and genuine agrarian reform.

DAR-Negros Occidental I said the government, through the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program, continues to work on actualizing equitable land distribution, ownership, agricultural productivity, and tenurial security for the tillers of the land towards the improvement of lives.

Citing its recent achievement in the 2020 Regional Assessment and Planning Conference in Iloilo City, DAR-Negros Occidental I said it was recognized as the "Best Performing Operating Unit" in the region.
