3 most wanted persons, 8 others nabbed in Eastern Visayas

THREE most wanted persons and eight other wanted individuals in Eastern Visayas were apprehended in separate anti-criminality operations from January 14 to 20, 2021.

Joint police operatives arrested Elton Basarte Marino, rank 3 most wanted-municipal level for a murder case, in Mondragon, Northern Samar on January 17, 2021.

After three years in hiding, Tacloban City’s rank 2 most wanted for murder, Mark Anthony Lorenzo, was arrested in Balanga City, Bataan on January 17.

Justino Saquin Sr., 66, listed as the top 5 most wanted person in Leyte province for five counts of rape, was arrested in Tanza, Cavite on January 16.

No bail bonds were recommended to the three accused, according to the report from the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Eastern Visayas.

On January 15, police arrested Cecilia Dorato in Bobon, Northern Samar for alleged violation of Presidential Decree (PD) 1602 or the anti-illegal gambling law.

The judge recommended bail of P10,000 for the temporary liberty of the accused.

Police arrested Sergio Villanueva in Tacloban City for alleged violation of section 95 of Republic Act (RA) 10654 or the unlawful fishing using active fishing gear.

He was facing a warrant dated December 28, 2020, with a recommended bail bond of P36,000.

Another accused, Richard Perez, was arrested on January 14 for alleged frustrated homicide.

Honorable Georgina Perez, presiding judge of Regional Trial Court (RTC)-Branch 45 in Tacloban, recommended bail of P72,000 for his temporary liberty.

In Borongan City, Noel Alde was arrested for alleged violation of section 68 of PD 705 or the cutting, gathering and/or collecting timber or other products without a license, with a recommended bail of P30,000.

The accused, Gerry Agnes, was arrested for alleged frustrated murder on January 20 in Pastrana, Leyte

Judge Perez of RTC-Branch 24 recommended bail of P120,000 the temporary liberty of the accused.

In Dulag, Leyte, Neco Corsino was arrested for an alleged attempted homicide, with a recommended bail bond of P36,000.

For alleged failure to appear in court in spite of notice, Engracio Bayog faced arrest in Gen. MacArthur, Eastern Samar on January 20.

Honorable Tarcelo Sabarre Jr, acting presiding judge of RTC-Branch 3 in Guiuan, Eastern Samar, recommended bail of P10,000 for his temporary liberty.

In Sulat, Eastern Samar, police arrested Jesus Cebrero by virtue of a warrant dated September 29, 2009, for alleged reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.

Honorable Hermelino Pilola, presiding judge of Municipal Circuit Trial Court- Maydolong, Eastern Samar, recommended a bail amounting to P40,000 for the temporary liberty of the accused.

All the arrested persons were brought to their respective police stations for documentation prior to turn over to the courts of origin. (Sunstar Philippines)
