Health office logs 24 new Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro

THE Cagayan de Oro City Health Office has recorded 24 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, all of which are local transmissions, epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya reported Friday, January 22, 2021.

This brought the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the city to 3,200.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 24 new local cases, 16 are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, one person deprived of liberty (PDL), two local authorized persons outside residence (Apors) and five are local index cases.

Of the 3,200 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 417 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category, and 2,783 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 2,783 local cases consist of 185 PDLs, 1,412 local index cases, and 1,186 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 358 active cases, 109 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 245 are outpatients, and four are ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 12 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as recovered.

This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 2,680.

Of the figure, 297 are LSIs, 115 are ROFs and 2,268 are local cases (community: 1,911; Apors: 357).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is at 162.
