Pia Wurtzbach refrains from buying branded items

FORMER Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach on buying luxury items: "I stopped doing this like since last year kasi hindi rin nagagamit. At saka, minsan parang 'pag binuksan mo iyong cabinet parang naiisip mo, 'Grabe, ano ba itong mga binili ko?'"

The 31-year-old actress-beauty queen answered some of her fans' questions during her "True or False" session on Instagram Stories.

In one of her posts, Pia revealed that it has been a while since she bought a designer item. She explained, "I stopped doing this like since last year kasi hindi rin nagagamit. At saka, minsan parang pag binuksan mo iyong cabinet parang naiisip mo, 'Grabe, ano ba itong mga binili ko?'"

In a separate post, Pia noted that she is not a brand-conscious person. She said, "I appreciate all kinds of brands. I love signature brands and even high-street brands, Filipino brands. I just mix it up."

Even when it comes to gifts, the former Miss Universe titleholder reiterated the saying, "It's the thought that counts. Lahat ng mga klaseng regalo naa-appreciate ko. Lalo na kapag pinag-isipan talaga at may thought. Kahit na drawing lang iyan, na-appreciate ko iyan. Wala iyan sa halaga, guys."

Pia was last seen on TV as host of ABS-CBN's dance competition World of Dance Philippines in 2019. She has not been active in the local showbiz scene since then.

In her Instagram Stories, the beauty queen said she is focusing on her different business ventures. Pia is currently based in Morocco with her boyfriend Jeremy Jauncey and has revealed her plans to go back to the Philippines.

Rica Peralejo says she's okay with toting fake Louis Vuitton bag as long as it serves its purpose. Practicality and functionality are the prime considerations of celebrity mom Rica Peralejo when shopping for bags.

Looking comfy in "daster" and sandal in the photo she posted on Instagram on Friday, January 15, 2021, Rica paired her OOTD with a fake Louis Vuitton bag, which she received as a gift.

In the caption, Rica revealed, "Okay disclaimer, hindi ako mahilig sa branded. Binenta ko na actually yung mga branded bags ko kasi sa totoo lang hindi ko naman magamit. "I would rather buy a tent with that money wahaha. But okay, someone gave me this and when I used it BONGGA IT DID THE JOB. I love the tote-ness of it. It’s so... tote-ful? [emoji] It is like a bayong na bagay sa all at kasya all."

Her admission, however, drew mixed reactions from netizens, prompting Rica to put to right the misguided ones among the comments.

She wrote, "I am in a remote area and when I turned on data what greeted me was the news that I am in the news for saying this thing about my bag. Some of them have added a thing or two to what I said here so pls read well and see where exaggerated my caption for news’ sake. Tandaan na the spin is theirs not mine. (Like I prefer daw fake branded bags eh sinabi na nga I am not into luxury bags sa caption at ginamit ko lang to kasi natuwa ako sa function, di nagbabasa! [emoji])"

The 39-year-old celebrity mom continued, "Also, I turned off commenting kasi nagaaway away na tao.

"Nagpapasalamat ako sa mga very kind sakin, at sa mga harsh, expected ko naman na yan. Minsan lang nakakapagtaka yung level ng bashing na galit na galit sakin akala mo naman inapi api ko siya [emoji] BUT THIS IS PART OF THE SOCMED PALENGKE. Ganyan na talaga life these days. Lahat kasi may sarili ng mic [emoji]."

Rica hasn't been active in the showbiz scene since she decided to focus on her family five years ago. But she regularly updates her social media and uploads a vlog to keep her fans updated. Rica and her husband Pastor Joseph Bonifacio already have two kids: Philip, 7, and Manu, 2.
