Zamboanga City records 37 new Covid-19 cases

ZAMBOANGA. The Zamboanga City Health Office reiterates its call for the residents to continue compliance with the health protocols as the threat of Covid-19 remains serious and real. THE Zamboanga City Health Office registered 37 new additional cases and one death during the last four days, bringing the total confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in this city to 3,872 as of Friday, January 22, 2021.

Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite, City Health officer, said of the total number, 3,571 are recoveries with 92 percent recovery rate, 120 are active cases while 181 are mortalities.

Miravite said that 41 of the total active cases are confined in the different hospitals while 79 are isolated in local government unit (LGU)-managed facilities.

Meanwhile, Miravite reiterated the need for residents to continue practicing minimum health standards -- wear face mask and shield, practice hand hygiene and observe physical distancing — to control and prevent the transmission of coronavirus.

“The threat of Covid-19 remains serious and real,” she added. (SunStar Zamboanga)
