FORMER Masantol town vice mayor Jorge "Jay" Bustos III and his alleged friend were found dead in a security agency office in Angeles City over the weekend.
The bodies of Bustos and his friend identified as Eric Villanueva Cariaga were found around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021, inside Blue Gems Security Office, which is reportedly owned by Bustos' wife.
Brigadier General Valeriano De Leon, Central Luzon police director, said both victims sustained one gunshot in the head.
"Based on initial investigation, there was no intruder that came inside the office prior to the shooting incident, but we will still review the CCTV (closed-circuit television) footage on that day," he said.
De Leon said CCTV footage were already forwarded to the Anti-Cybercrime Division Office and both victims will undergo paraffin tests.
The lone gun that was found at the crime scene was submitted to the regional police office as part of the investigation, he added.
"Our police are already looking into all angles and relative information that can provide resolution to this case as soon as possible," De Leon said.
Bustos, who served as vice mayor of Masantol from 2004 to 2010, was the brother of Patrol Partylist Representative Jorge "Bar" Bustos.
