THERE seems to be a bit of disconnect between what we’re afraid of in this pandemic and what is really happening on the ground.
I am confused as to the real protocols. I was in a coffeeshop in IT Park last week, and I needed to park in a lot behind a restobar at the far end of the area. I had to walk past these restobars and I noticed that they are almost full. Alcohol was served and people just crowded around tables and even sharing glasses.
A few meters up ahead was the coffeeshop where I needed to work. In contrast, each small table had plastic barriers and some seats and tables were marked “ex,” which meant that they couldn’t be occupied.
I am wondering about this contrast. I approached a security guard to enlighten me about the protocol, pointing out the scenario I saw earlier at the restobar, and he said it is now allowed.
I hope our government officials can enlighten the public on the real score.
