3 nabbed, P1.8-M shabu seized in anti-drug sting

THE Drug Enforcement Unit of Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) arrested three drug personalities and seized some P1.8 million worth of suspected shabu in an anti-illegal drug operation in Zamboanga City, a top police official announced Monday, January 25, 2021.

Police Brigadier General Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested suspects as the following: Benhar Hamidol, 27; Basar Sampang, 55; and, Marvin Ramirez, 35.

Ylagan said Hamidol and Sampang are both newly identified drug personalities, while Ramirez is on the drug watch list.

Seized from the suspects were some P1.8 million worth of suspected shabu packed in three heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, 99 pieces of P1,000 bills boodle money topped with one genuine P1,000 bill as marked money.

Ylagan said the suspects were detained at the lock-up cell of ZCPO, while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are set to be filed against them.

He commended the relentless efforts of the ZCPO Drug Enforcement Group for the notable accomplishment in the fight against illegal drugs in this city. (SunStar Zamboanga)
