Over P100,000 shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P102,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) in Purok Langis, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City Sunday evening, January 25, 2021.

The operation also led to the arrest of Gicelle Pilaro, 22, and Jerome Altarios, 22, both residents of Barangay Banago.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office, said Monday the suspects were arrested after they sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover around 11:30 p.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession seven sachets of shabu weighing 15 grams and the P500 marked money.

The suspects, who were identified as street-level individuals in Bacolod, were under surveillance for almost a month before their arrest.

The suspects were detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 3 and will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
