A LOT of people are fascinated with dogs which are considered as man's best and loyal friends.

Dogs enable a person to minimize his or her care's in life. It can be fun to have them around and unleash their playful nature.

Former actor and model Lito Gruet and wife Stella shared how they missed a street dog named Budoy.

Budoy, a street dog, was their morning buddy when they stroll around the streets in Dumaguete.

At the height of the pandemic lockdown, the couple who came to Dumaguete for a short vacation was compelled to stay longer due to the travel restrictions.

"Budoy was our companion during our daily walks that spanned for an entire year since we got stranded in Dumaguete. Our first friend among the many street dogs that greeted us every morning and joined our walks. It was the friendliest and the tamest. I looked forward to seeing it every morning. Yes, the dog was an aspin. But I loved this aspin so much," Gruet shared.

Then one day, Gruet asked around after not seeing Budoy for four straight days, of which he learned that a speeding truck ran over the dog.

He was told that the dog was placed in a sack and was buried. He never had the chance to say goodbye.

He said, "And he isn't even mine. But we cared for it. We love that stray dog. Truck drivers should be mindful of dogs' presence in the streets. Dogs are considered family."

Budoy was a street dog. He must have an owner who just let him live alone thus he was always in the streets.

"What happened to him was painful. Goodbye to my loyal street friend Budoy who was killed by a speeding truck," he said.

"My heart is broken into a million pieces!" he added.
