NINETEEN villages in Bacolor town, Pampanga have received covered courts worth P5 million each.
This was gleaned during the town-wide inspection of projects in this town under the leadership of Third District Representative Aurelio Gonzales, Jr. and Mayor Diman Datu.
Gonzales visited several key infrastructure projects in the town, which are part of the initiative to rebuild Bacolor's infrastructure.
“We will also be looking into the further implementation of the funding allocation under the Bacolor Rehabilitation Act to further bring in infrastructure projects into Bacolor,” Gonzales added.
Gonzales vowed to follow up the full implementation of the Bacolor rehabilitation plan in which the objective is the complete rehabilitation of this town buried by lahar, volcanic ashes and debris during the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in 1991.
This is mandated by Republic Act 9506 or the Bacolor Rehabilitation Council Act.
Gonzales, under a fresh term at the House of Representatives, said he will bring the matter up with President Rodrigo Duterte to finally realize the vision of the complete rehabilitation of the town.
Around P4.7 billion would be needed to fully realize the full rehabilitation of the town, while only P1.2 billion has been implemented for rehabilitation projects there.
