What better way to sow seeds of gender equality and social responsibility than in young minds!

The very relevant issue of gender equality in the workplace and everywhere else is being tackled as a top priority problem by the government as well as non-governmental agencies—for one, Zonta International, a global ladies’ organization, whose main objective is the empowerment of women worldwide.

Its aggressive thrusts have even filtered to its Z Club, whose junior members are students or young minds.

Childlink Center has its own Z Club, thanks to the initiatives of Zonta Club of Cebu 2 member Theresa Tio, the school’s executive director.

Annually, Zonta celebrates the “International Day of the Girl Child.” This year, Childlink High Schoolers enthusiastically joined in by expressing their thoughts through art. In this manner, they can effectively communicate to adults, their parents, the future they want and deserve; a future where the gender gap is narrowed and equity is achieved.

The Zonta Club of Cebu 2 has likewise observed this advocacy through a virtual activity, hoping that someday, girls can have equal education and employment opportunities as boys, and anticipate a brighter future!

Even the United Nations, in this year’s theme ”My Voice, our Equal future” focuses on how girls, globally, are leading the way. They encouraged the Childlink schoolers to seize the opportunity (Carpe diem!) to be inspired for the change they want, and bring them closer to their goals!

Today, we are featuring some of the truly sensitive artworks submitted by the Social Studies class, that are beautiful renditions that words alone cannot express!

Admire and be inspired girls!
