THIRD District Representative Aurelio Gonzales Jr. assured Thursday, January 28, that the development projects under the Bacolor Rehabilitation Act (Republic Act 9506), otherwise known as the Dong Gonzales Law, will continue to bring infrastructure projects for Bacolor town until the full rehabilitation is realized.

Gonzales also assured that even with the coronavirus pandemic, development projects for Bacolor town are now in the works. This as Gonzales conducted site inspections on Wednesday of ongoing and proposed 2021 infrastructure projects in the municipality of Bacolor.

These include the construction of Dolores Bridge, Maliwalu Bridge, Talba-Mesalipit Bridge, Tinajero-Talba Bridge; improvement of the Bacolor Mini Convention Center and Executive Building; and expansion of the Ricardo Rodriguez Hospital.

The visit also included inspections of recently finished multi-purpose covered courts in Magliman and the soon to be finished Cambabangan Barangay Hall.

Gonzales was joined by Bacolor Mayor Eduardo Datu and officers from the Department of Public Works and Highways Engineering District headed by District Engineer Almer Miranda and Engr. Aurelio Brenz Gonzales.

Gonzales also met with local stakeholders at the Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University hosted by President Enrique Baking in the discussion of the budgetary and technical requirements of the proposed projects and programs under the Bacolor Rehabilitation Act.

Gonzales vowed to follow up the full implementation of the Bacolor rehabilitation plan in which the objective is the complete rehabilitation of this town buried by lahar, volcanic ashes and debris during the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in 1991.

Recently, P50 million has been allocated for the rehabilitation of the Ricardo Rodriguez Hospital. The rehabilitation project seeks to increase the medical capacity of the current one-story facility. The new funding aims to add new floors to the current building.

Some P30 million is also allocated for the rehabilitation of the Mini Bacolor Gym and another P40 million had been allocated for the construction of a new Executive Building for the town.

Mayor Diman Datu, for his part, lauded the efforts of Representative Gonzales, for ensuring that the plans under the Bacolor Rehabilitation Act are realized.
