THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Negros Occidental has provided P70,000 worth of livelihood facility to Sto. Niño United Farm Workers Association in Barangay Tortosa, Manapla town recently.

The agrarian reform beneficiaries organization (Arbo) received one unit of duck egg incubator.

This is part of the sustainable livelihood support project for disaster-affected areas under DAR-Negros Occidental I Program Beneficiaries Development Division (PBDD)'s Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support (CRFPS) project.

PBDD officer-in-charge chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer Rizalina Yuguing said in a statement that the agency gathered its resources to make the project possible.

"This will help our Arbo to make their Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (Carp)-awarded lands more productive by spurring livelihood opportunities for the organization and its members," she added.

The livelihood facility is seen to boost the duck egg production business of the Arbo and will benefit 27 of its members.

DAR-Negros Occidental I said the CRFPS project aims to build resiliency among agrarian reform communities with an emphasis on enhancing and sustaining the agricultural productivity of the organizations as adaptation measures towards farming mechanization.

This project will also support the organization to increase their farm production, yield better income as well as improving their lives.

The Program Beneficiaries Development is a support service delivery component of the DAR that aims to capacitate agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) and provide them access to salient support services, it added.
