Health office logs 16 new Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro

THE Cagayan de Oro City Health Office has recorded 16 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, one of whom is a locally stranded individual (LSI) and 15 are local transmissions, epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya reported Wednesday, January 13, 2021.

This brought the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the city to 3,017.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 15 new local cases, 10 are close contacts of previously confirmed cases and five are local index cases.

Of the 3,017 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 413 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category, and 2,604 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 2,604 local cases consist of 182 persons deprived of liberty, 1,331 local index cases, and 1,091 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 330 active cases, 95 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 223 are outpatients, and 12 are ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 22 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as recovered after their repeat swab test results came out negative. This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 2,533.

Of the figure, 292 are LSIs, 108 are ROFs and 2,133 are local cases (community: 1,801; Apors: 332).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is at 154.
