AUTHORITIES arrested the barangay captain of Marang in Sumisip, Basilan over charges of murder.
Jamirun Jalalahun, also known as Jamirun Ajijon, was accused of being the mastermind in the murder of businessman Roberto Musablin in 2004, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Debold Sinas said on Friday, January 29, 2021.
Jalalahun was arrested inside the barangay hall by a composite team from Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB)-9, Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) and PNP Special Action Force (SAF) around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 28.
Bassel Ajijon Eting was also arrested for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Recovered during the operation were various firearms and ammunition kept in the barangay hall.
The arrest warrant against Jalalahun was issued by Isabela City, Basilan Regional Trial Court in January 2005. (Third Anne Peralta-Malonzo / SunStar Philippines)
