12 Oro residents infected; total Covid-19 cases now at 3,307

TWELVE residents tested positive for Sars-CoV-2, one of whom is a locally stranded individual (LSI) and 11 are local transmissions, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Cagayan de Oro to 3,307.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 11 new cases, eight are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, two are local index cases and one local authorized person outside residence (Apor).

Of the 3,307 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 419 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 2,888 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 2,888 local cases consist of 185 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), 1,457 local index cases and 1,246 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 327 active cases, 106 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 218 outpatients, and three are ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 51 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered." This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 2,814.

Of the figure, 299 are LSIs, 116 are ROFs, and 2,399 are local cases (community: 2,024; Apors: 375).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is at 166.
