FILMS have become an effective tool in promoting tourist spots and culture recently. And this upcoming film, Sana All, intends to do so beyond the storytelling itself.

Known for highlighting picturesque local and international locations in his previous films, director Bona Fajardo believes this film featuring Adams, a municipality in Ilocos Norte, will put the town on the tourism map.

Meg Imperial, the film’s lead actress, also said a big part of accepting this project is she wanted to explore the beauty of Adams and learn about the culture in the north.

“Adams is so beautiful. But aside from Adams, favorite ko din kung sa Benguet. We have one shooting location na may fields of flowers, it’s fascinating. It’s fun because you are working while enjoying the scenic views,” she said in an online press launch last week.

She will be working opposite Arvic Tan, who also shared the same admiration of the film’s locations.

“It’s overlooking a mountain and a river. I love our moments there while sipping a hot chocolate. The food is also delicious,” he shared.

The film’s story revolves largely Ilocos Norte’s exotic and intoxicating rice wine, the tapuey.

Meg plays Iyam, granddaughter of Lola Ingga (Lita Loresca), a renowned tapuey maker in the town of Adams. Iyam is about to take over their tapuey business, but the wine that she makes doesn’t meet her grandma’s standard. Lola Ingga points out that it lacks an important ingredient - passion.

Lola Ingga and her grandson Timo (Pio Balbuena), Iyam’s cousin, are convinced that Iyam will regain her passion for tapuey-making if she falls in love. But Iyam will not hear of it.

Arvic Tan plays Syd, a guy from Manila who, together with his friend Joan (Andrew Muhlach), is on a quest for the sweetest tapuey. His search leads him to Adams where he meets Iyam for the second time. Syd, Joan, Iyam and Timo have already crossed paths while on a short visit to La Union.

Syd’s presence undeniably brings spark to Iyam’s life, to the delight of Lola Ingga and Timo. But just as Iyam has started to take a risk in love, she discovers that Syd has other motives for trying to win her heart.

Viva Films and BluArt Productions bring ‘Sana all’ in cinemas on February 5, 2021, and soon on Vivamax, a video-on-demand streaming platform of Viva.
