BACOLOD City Mayor Evelio Leonardia on Sunday, January 31, 2021, signed Executive Order (EO) No. 02 for the extension of the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) in Bacolod City from February 1 to 28.
On January 29, the Office of the President through Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque announced that Bacolod City will be among the local government units (LGUs) under the category of MGCQ.
Leonardia said the City Government of Bacolod has always been in faithful compliance with the national policy regarding the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) public health emergency, acting consistently with the instructions and manner of observing public order, especially in safeguarding the health and welfare of its constituents.
He added all the provisions of EO 84 Series of 2020, dated December 31, 2020, which placed the City under MGCQ from January 1 to 31, 2021, will continue to be in effect for the duration of the extended MGCQ.
Any person below 15 years old; those who are over 65 years old; those with immunodeficiency, comorbidity, or other health risks regardless of age; pregnant women; and any person who resides with all the aforementioned are still required to remain in their residences at all times, except when necessary, such as obtaining essential goods and services or for work in permitted industries and offices.
The foregoing restriction is to abide by the recent public pronouncement made by President Rodrigo Duterte revoking the relaxation of age-risk limitation of children for strict home quarantine, the EO further stated.
The daily curfew hours will also continue to be observed from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.
The selling of liquor, wine, beer or any alcoholic or intoxicating beverage will only be allowed from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Consumption of such alcoholic beverages will only be done within private residences.
Leonardia said the proper wearing of face masks and face shields, hand sanitation practices, and social distancing in all public places and public and private transport will continue to be strictly observed.
He said mass gatherings such as movie screenings, concerts, and other entertainment activities, religious services, and work conferences are allowed provided that participants will be limited to 50 percent of the seating or venue capacity.
