Happy sleep, happy life

Happy sleep, happy life

In a time when people are required to stay home as much as possible, where and how does one de-stress-- especially when homes have now become offices too?

For some, looking at photos brings them back to wonderful times. Others prefer to foster new hobbies or even revive pastimes. Some people, on the other hand, opt to take refuge in a peaceful slumber.

Offering a variety of sleep products such as silk pajama sets, night gowns, pillow cases, essentials and so much more, Happy Sleep is the brainchild of sisters Shayne and Shaira Mae Pedrosa.

The name speaks for itself; it aims to give customers an escape from anxiousness, insomnia, and sleeplessness, especially during this time of the pandemic. Also, Happy Sleep aims for customers to improve their mornings.

“Like everyone else, my sister and I always wanted to start a business that’s close to our hearts — something that we, sellers, would want to use for our everyday routine. And, we find sleepwear and sleep essentials the greatest things on Earth,” said Shayne.

The sisters decided to put down a solid foot in supporting locals. They tapped on local independent tailors who are heavily affected by the dwindling economy.

She shared that these tailors depended on sewing school uniforms and jerseys. With 2020 being a bleak year since schools were closed from conducting face-to-face classes, Shayne shares that partnering with them was one way of uplifting the economy.

“After all, we’re here to lift each other during these challenging times. I tell you, their reaction about the potential of the proposal and their gratifications were priceless. They even gave their suggestions to better our products and we were glad that the small business sparked hope in them,” Shayne happily shared.

Happy Sleep started with silk pillow cases as Shayne had always wanted one for herself. Slowly but surely, the sisters then ventured out to more sleep-centered products. All, of course, are locally sourced and made.

Silk pajama sets lead the game. Shayne said parents would buy one for themselves and order a matching set for their children.

“It has become a sort of a family thing,” Shayne adds.

From small to large, Happy Sleep’s silk pajama sets are inclusive of different body sizes including those leaning towards the plus-size spectrum.

The homegrown local brand is available on Facebook, Instagram, and Shoppee. (RDR)
