5 most wanted persons nabbed in Zamboanga

AUTHORITIES have arrested five most wanted persons in separate law enforcement operations in Zamboanga Peninsula, the police reported Wednesday, February 3.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested persons as Carlito Madula Calido, 51; Junmar Fernandez Lucmong, 35; Roberto Panama Manlayas, 53; Patricio Dumandan Ogdao, 45; and Danilo Pisikan Sabangan, 43.

Duco said Calido was arrested by policemen around 11:20 a.m. Tuesday in a manhunt operation in Gil Sanchez village, Labason, Zamboanga Del Norte.

Calido, the number 6 most wanted person in Jose Dalman, Zamboanga del Norte, has a standing warrant of arrest for two counts rape in relation to Republic Act 7610, otherwise known as the Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act with no recommended bail issued on December 5, 2008 by the court of Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte.

Duco said Lucmong, listed as number 7 most wanted person, was arrested around 4 p.m. Tuesday in Purok 2 Durian in Lourdes village, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

Lucmong has pending warrant of arrest for the crime of rape in relation to Republic Act 7610, otherwise known as the Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, with no recommended bail issued on December 18, 2020 by the court of Pagadian City.

Manlayas, listed as number 4 most wanted person, was arrested around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Purok 1 in Dampalan village, Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte.

Duco said the suspect has a standing warrant of arrest for the crime of rape with P120,000 recommended bail issued on November 24, 2020 by the court of Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.

He said Ogdao was arrested around 9 p.m. Tuesday in the village of Bethlehem, Polanco, Zamboanga del Norte.

Ogdao, listed as number 1 most wanted person in Polanco, was charged with attempted rape and a warrant of arrest was issued against him by the court of Dipolog City.

Duco said Sabangan was arrested around 9 a.m. Tuesday in Victoria village, Zamboanga City.

He said Sabangan is the number 8 most wanted person in Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay and has a standing warrant of arrest for the crime of rape with no recommended bail issued on July 2, 2015 by the court of Ipil of the same province. (SunStar Zamboanga)
