TRAVELING on your bike, though physically exhausting, makes the journey exciting.

It's truly an adventure because it will test your endurance as to how far and how fast you can go to get to your desired destination.

Biking brings a lot of benefits, especially to our physical health. The outdoor adventure is also a plus factor that has attracted a lot of enthusiasts which was boosted by the Covid-19 pandemic with all its restrictions.

Outdoor recreation such as biking has become the trend which is favorable to avoid being confined indoors.

Bikers in the province start their journey early in the morning and the most popular routes taken are in Barangay Granada to Alangilan, Bacolod City, Sitio Campuestohan, Barangay Cabatangan, and Conception in Talisay City or to Murcia via Alegria down to the town proper.

Bikers pedal as early as the sunrise. Most of the bikers can already witness the sun rising while they are already mobile on the road. Many are appreciating such morning treasure because divinely speaking, God spreads His grace firstly to those early risers.

Riding a bike early in the morning allows one to enjoy the scenery and refreshing places such as the green and vast sugarcane farms with carabaos tilling the land. The fresh air and cool ambiance are already a plus factor for bikers as it helps relax the mind and even increases one's motivation and appreciation of God's given life.

I began riding my bike from Barangay Granada up to Barangay Alangilan proper.

The ride was almost six kilometers with strenuous terrain. Bikers sweat out when they traverse this route.

Bikers like me from Bacolod City would usually have their first stop at Granada to have their morning coffee and chat with their fellow bikers. The second stop is usually at Bantug Lake Ranch and then to Alangilan Church.

For those who are already residing at Granada, our first stop is usually at Alangilan proper for a coffee break.

Then, we decide as to where to go. Either we go on a trail or go to the famous Arceo destination. From there, one can decide whether one goes to Sitio Campuestohan in Talisay or to Murcia via Alegria.

All those destinations are tough and distant rides. But since it's more of a fun adventure, many bikers enjoy it every day.

As with my adventure with friends, we had the chance to proceed to Murcia proper via Arceo. There we saw the access road under construction. If this road from Arceo to Alegria, Murcia up near the last barangay before the Murcia town proper be completed, this will cut short the travel time from Granada to Murcia and up to Don Salvador Benedicto or La Carlota City to many destinations in the South.

It's a good thing that I was able to see these places to help inform the public about alternative tourism routes.

I hope I can visit more places by riding my bike. Thank God, we were all safe when we came home.
