THE City Government of San Fernando, through the City Health Office and Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBLMGH), rolled out the first joint blood donation drive in the City of San Fernando for 2021 on February 3 at Heroes Hall.

At least 60 bags of blood were collected from regular donors that included employees of the City Government, attached government agencies and common folk.

Individuals who have recovered from Covid-19 also donated three bags of blood containing convalescent plasma.

The organizers said the blood will be brought to JBLMGH’s blood bank that will benefit patients from different parts of Central Luzon.

Strengthening its efforts to address the increasing demand for safe and sufficient blood supply, the City targets to hold five more similar blood-letting drives for 2021.

The project carried the theme, “Dugo Mo, Katumbas ng Buhay Ko. Kaya Fernandino, Donate Tayo.”

It was made part of San Fernando’s 20th Cityhood anniversary or Kaganapan 2021 celebration. (PR)
