THE Clark Development Corporation (CDC) on Sunday, February 7, 2021, issued a statement welcoming the appointment of former Angeles City Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan as chairman of the CDC Board of Directors and retired Lieutenant General Emmanuel Salamat to the CDC Board.

CDC President and Chief Executive Officer Manuel R. Gaerlan said in the statement, “in behalf of the management of Clark Development Corporation, I welcome the appointment of former Angeles City Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan as Chairman of the CDC Board of Directors.”

“His chairmanship will be a big boost to the vision we have set forth for the corporation. Mr. Pamintuan is a dedicated and experienced public servant who has served in various capacities in local government, as a cabinet member and presidential adviser, and in international panels and undertakings,” he added.

Gaerlan noted that Pamintuan comes from one of CDC’s host communities and was instrumental in opening the access to the Clark Freeport Zone and other centers of the economy by helping create connectivity to the major thoroughfares like the North Luzon Expressway, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, South Luzon Expressway, the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway and the Cavite.

Gaerlan also welcomed the appointment of retired Lieutenant General Emmanuel Salamat to the CDC Board.

“Our new director is a member of PMA (Philippine Military Academy) class 1985, a former Commandant of the Philippine Marines and Commander of the AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) Northern Luzon Command. He is a brother at arms and a Mistah. His arrival coincides with that of Chairman Pamintuan. General Salamat brings with him his recent experience as Administrator of MWSS, an experience so vital in creating a business conducive environment in Clark,” he said.

“The CDC Board is blessed with the addition of Chairman Pamintuan and Director Salamat to an already formidable depth and breadth that our current board and management possess. We look forward to the synergy that their arrival will bring for our greater role in economic progress and nation-building,” Gaerlan said.

Meanwhile, Pamintuan expressed his gratitude to President Rodrigo Duterte and former president now adviser for Clark flagship projects Gloria Macapagal Arroyo for the appointment.

“I am grateful to President Rodrigo Duterte for his trust and confidence in me to be appointed as the chairman of the Clark Development Corporation. I would like to thank former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo who was one of the firsts who congratulated and welcomed me to CDC. With her expertise as the Presidential Adviser of Clark's flagship projects, I am confident that her wisdom would complement the vision of Clark and its neighboring towns and cities,” Pamintuan said.

“I would also like to thank my predecessor, former Sec. Ping de Jesus who did an exemplary performance, and we still keep in touch together with former CDC President Noel Manankil, as well as BCDA President Vince Dizon. I also appreciate and praise the members of the board for their valuable contribution to the success that helps provide Clark a more secure foundation,” he added.

Pamintuan said he will continue what his predecessor pursued for Clark.

“We will continue what former chairman De Jesus did for CDC. I will also help President Manuel Gaerlan on his legacy projects including the relocation of PAF (Philippine Air Force) to Pulang Lupa and the inventory of available land for leasing. Despite the uncertainty of the pandemic, my mindset will be forward-moving in promoting success of Clark,” he said.
