Sinas leads groundbreaking of NOCPPO transient quarters

POLICE General Debold M Sinas, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), led the groundbreaking ceremony of the Negros Occidental Provincial Office (NOCPPO) Transient Quarters at Camp Alfredo M Montelibano, Sr., Bacolod City, Sunday, February 7, 2021.

This was the first official visit of the PNP top cop in NOCPPO.

Before the ceremony, Sinas together with the chiefs of PNP Directorates joined with other guests in V formation depicting a gesture from the popular anime series, Voltes V, which is the personification of unity and solidarity that the PNP is promoting with its stakeholders.

Other guests were from the different uniformed service namely the Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection. Local chief executives headed by Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Councilor Wilson Gamboa Jr., representing the Honorable Congressman Joseph Stephen Paduano of the Abang-Lingkod Party-List, who facilitated the inclusion of the said project to the General Appropriations Act F.Y. 2021 of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). Engineer Jaime SJ Javellana, District Engineer, DPWH-BCDEO was also present on behalf of Engineer Lea N. Delfinado, regional director of DPWH-Western Visayas.

The said structure will be built in the area where the old NOCPPO Apartment, which was constructed on June 14, 1974, and was inaugurated on April 14, 1975, once stood. The construction for the 12-room transient quarters will begin once the Special Allotment Release Order from the Department of Budget Management is released. The total budget for the project is Php 10,000,000.

Sinas thanked the Abang-Lingkod Partylist for helping in the realization of the project. He added that once the structure is completed, it will help policemen settle immediately and render police service.

He further commended Police Colonel Romy I Palgue, provincial director of NOCPPO, for maintaining a favorable peace and order in the province that is needed and appreciated by the people.
