Southern Leyte top cops get awards

TOP police officers and units of Southern Leyte received awards as part of the “Precious Gem” program of the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Eastern Visayas on Monday, February 8, 2021.

The police units and personnel who delivered “exemplary performance” for January include Maasin City Police Station, Best City Police Station; Sogod Municipal Police Station, Best Municipal Police Station; Tomas Oppus Chief of Police Captain Chloe Sergio Jun Lapastora, Best Police Commissioned Officer-Administrative; Major Dexter Edillo, Best Police Commissioned Officer-Operational; Chief Master Sergeant Joel Salomon Jr., Best Police Non-Commissioned Officer-Administrative; and Staff Sergeant Dexter Costillas, Best Police Non-Commissioned Officer-Operational.

Colonel Dante Novicio, director of Southern Leyte Police Provincial Office (SLPPO), lauded the awardees while urging them “to continue the admirable feat in going out of their comfort zones to provide virtuous deeds.”

In a statement, SLPPO said the following unit and personnel “have been conducting meritorious performance in skills improvement, intensification of operation against all forms of criminality, maintain integrity and discipline, and amplify its effort to reach out to the need of the people, which makes them suitable for Precious Gem awards.”

Brigadier General Ronaldo De Jesus, director of PRO-Eastern Visayas, launched the “Precious Gem” as he envisioned a “reliable and compassionate police service” in the region.

“Precious Gem” stands for Precision, Responsibility, Expertise, Community Empowerment, Integrity, Operations, Upliftment, Structure and Go the Extra Mile. (SunStar Philippines)
