THE Municipality of Minglanilla, Cebu has decided to implement the quarantine passes again to limit the presence of its residence in public places.

This, as the town saw again an increase of its active Covid-19 cases.

The move was announced by the Minglanilla Police Station and this move was confirmed by the municipal government through its spokesperson, Jay Fernandez.

Agreement

During a meeting on Feb. 8, 2021, the town police chief, barangay captains and Mayor Elanito Peña agreed to require the residents to carry their quarantine passes when they run essential errands outside their homes.

Each household in Minglanilla only has one quarantine pass, and the passes are color-coded to determine which barangay the holders come from.

Fernandez said during the meeting that it was agreed that the quarantine pass must bear the name of the holder. He said the decision could be finalized on Saturday, Feb. 13.

He urged the residents of Minglanilla to observe minimum health protocols such as wearing masks and observing social distancing to protect themselves against Covid-19.

As of Wednesday, Feb. 10, Minganilla has 92 active cases in 12 of its 19 barangays—Tunghaan, 20; Pakigne, 19; Linao-Lipata, 14; Tungkil, 10; Tungkop, seven; Tulay, six; Calajoan, five; Ward 4, five; Ward 3, two; Vito, two; Ward 2, one; and Cadulawan, one. (ANV)
