Y4 'retains control' of another bus company in Mindanao

THE four siblings of the Yanson family asserted they have retained control of another family owned bus company in Mindanao.

In a press release, lawyer Carlo Joaquin Narvasa said the annual meeting of Rural Transit Mindanao Inc. shareholders was held on February 10, 2021 in Seda Centrio Hotel, Cagayan De Oro City and presided by John Matthew R. Medina as proxy for Roy Yanson, its president and chairman of the Board of Directors.

It was attended by stockholders representing 61.17 percent of the outstanding capital stock of the corporation, Narvasa said.

Roy Yanson, Emily Yanson, Maria Lourdes Yanson-Lopez, Ricardo Yanson, Jerina Louise Ramos and Matthew Agustin Lopez were elected by the shareholders anew as members of the Board of Directors for year 2021- 2022.

The shareholders ratified all acts and transactions of the BOD and management of the corporation under the leadership of its president Roy Yanson, Narvasa also said.

The lawyer said in the organizational meeting that followed, the directors elected Roy Yanson as chairman of the BOD and president, Ma. Lourdes Celina Lopez as vice president for operations, Emily Yanson as treasurer and chief financial officer, Ricardo Yanson as corporate secretary, Ana Isabella Galvez as assistant corporate secretary and he as vice president for legal.

The new directors of the company also vowed to continue court actions to unravel minority shareholders activities and their pretense to act on behalf of the company despite the absence of any legal basis for them to do so, Narvasa added.
