DESPITE the impact of the coronavirus pandemic in the automotive industry, Mini Autostudio Cebu launched its new pop-up store along N. Escario St., Cebu City to bring the brand’s experience closer to its market in Visayas and Mindanao.

Willy Tee Ten, president of Autohub Group and Mini Philippines, called the launch a milestone as it was not easy to build and open a store during these challenging times.

“This is an exciting new beginning for Mini Cebu. The iconic Mini is perfect not only for the Visayas region but for Mindanao. Despite the challenges we faced last year, Mini Philippines will continue to give the automotive market the excitement through our Mini model line-up this year. We will continue to innovate and make our services available with just one click,” he said.

Mini Philippines general manager Jefferson Lizardo said that despite the Covid-19 pandemic, they are hoping for bright prospects for the Mini brand in Visayas and Mindanao.

“All of us are just very optimistic that anytime soon, we will be out of this pandemic and hopefully the entry of vaccines will help in developing new norms and positive outlooks in the future. Mini is one of the premium and luxury brands that we offer and Filipinos are looking forward to getting out of this pandemic and the fun and excitement is one of the core values of the Mini,” he said during a virtual presscon on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021.

“We’re not that good, but compared to other brands, Mini Philippines’ 2019 and 2020 performance managed to sustain its figures. Hopefully, we will be able to achieve our set targets for 2021,” he added.

Lizardo assured that the Mini Cebu team will be providing better sales and after sales experience, especially in Visayas and Mindanao.

Pancho Luzuriaga, president of Mini Autostudio Cebu, said they are looking into the expansion towards the Mindanao in Davao and Cagayan cities and some key cities in the Visayas, namely Iloilo and Bacolod.

“What our goal here, especially for this lockdown, we would like to bring the excitement of the brand to them. With the lockdown rules and regulations right now, it is so difficult for them to come to us. That is why it would be best that we will be present where they are,” he said. (JOB)
