A FORMER executive of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) died in a road accident in Zamboanga City, the police reported Saturday, February 13, 2021.
The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) reported that the incident happened around 7:30 a.m. Friday along the highway in Mercedes villages, this city.
The ZCPO identified the fatality as Naomi Ibara Diaz, 67, retired GSIS regional director and a resident of Zone 1 in Culianan village.
Investigation disclosed that Diaz was crossing the highway when accidentally bumped by a Mitsubishi Canter Truck driven by John Miguel Leonor Daanton, 31, Matina Balusong, Davao City.
The police said the victim, who sustained head injury, was rushed to the hospital but expired around 8:30 a.m. while under treatment.
The driver and the vehicle involved in the accident were placed under the custody of ZCPO’s Station 4. (SunStar Zamboanga)
