Carmen still holds most number of Covid-19 deaths in Oro

BARANGAY Carmen remains to be the village with the most number of coronavirus disease-2019 (Covid-19) deaths in Cagayan de Oro, recording a total of 20 deaths, City Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya reported Saturday, February 13, 2021.

However, Barangay Carmen is one of the areas in the city with lowest case fatality rate, below five percent.

Following the said barangay are Barangay Lapasan with 18 deaths; Barangay Macabalan with 14 deaths; Barangay Gusa with 13 deaths; Barangay Camaman-an with 11 deaths; Barangay Balulang with 10 deaths; Barangay Bugo with 10 deaths; Barangay Tablon with 10 deaths; Barangay Puntod with nine deaths; Barangay Kauswagan with seven deaths; Barangay Bulua with seven deaths; Barangay Lumbia with six deaths; and Barangay Patag with five deaths.

Barangay Puntod remains to be the barangay with the highest case fatality rate in the city at 13.64 percent.

The barangay with the second-highest case fatality rate is Barangay Macabalan at 11.11 percent, followed by Barangays Tablon (10.87 percent), Gusa (9.35 percent), Lapasan (7.93 percent), Camaman-an (6.75 percent), Bugo (5.71 percent), and Balulang (5.03 percent).

Barangays with case fatality rate less than five percent are Barangays Lumbia (4.84 percent), Carmen (4.45 percent), Bulua (4.29 percent), Patag (3.79 percent), and Kauswagan (2.44 percent).

Barangay Carmen also has the most number of Covid-19 cases in the city at 449.

The rest of the barangays are Barangay Kauswagan with 287 cases; Barangay Lapasan with 227; Barangay Balulang with 199; Barangay Bugo with 175; Barangay Bulua with 163; Barangay Camaman-an with 163; Barangay Gusa with 139; Barangay Patag with 132; Barangay Macabalan with 126; Barangay Lumbia with 124; Barangay Tablon with 92; and Barangay Puntod with 66.
