BACOLOD City Councilor Wilson Gamboa Jr. has asked the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Bacolod to update the City Council on the repeated construction works along Circumferential Road near the Bacolod Government Center (BGC).
Gamboa said these road construction or repair is causing traffic congestion along Circumferential Road and compromises motorist's safety.
"It appears to be a never-ending construction and repair of roads along Circumferential Road near the Bacolod Government Center," he said.
He added the DPWH should update the City Council in writing.
The City Council also earlier asked the DPWH to expedite the road construction and repair works in some areas in the city.
Gamboa said the DPWH should expedite the road construction and repair works along Circumferential Road, Carlos Hilado highway near the Bacolod Government Center and Cabug-Circumferential intersection and to cause the installation of reflectorized warning signs during its construction or repair.
He said the DPWH has the authority over private contractors working on the construction and repair along the circumferential road.
"These road repairs are causing traffic congestion along circumferential road and compromise motorists' safety," he added.
