Tomorrow marks the opening of an art gallery in the city of Toledo. The Aroma Art Gallery is a project of artist Orley Ypon who says that the gallery is meant to nurture and encourage artists to develop their full potential, and to provide an ideal venue to exhibit their works. This is a dream-come-true for the group of 20 or so artists organized by Orley about four years ago to form the Aroma Art Group.
A true-blue son of Toledo, Cebu, Orley is a multi-awarded artist who has gone places including a brief stint in New York after he won the prestigious worldwide competition of Art Renewal Center International. However, he said he could never be away from home for long. And now that he is back for good, he is determined to put his hometown Toledo in the map as “a cultural hub and a source of representational classical art.”
