Pre-Valentine concert probed

THE Bacolod City Emergency Operations Center-Task Force (EOC-TF) is now conducting a thorough investigation on the alleged pre-Valentine concert held in the city over the weekend.

Dr. Chris Sorongon, deputy for medical data and analysis of EOC-TF, said Tuesday, February 16, that they conduct the investigation to determine the person responsible for the alleged pre-Valentine concert that happened near the Bacolod Government Center.

He said based on their initial investigation, the city did not grant any permit to conduct a pre-Valentine concert.

"We are investigating this because we have an existing executive order to disallow holding parties to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus," he added.

Once they identify the responsible person, Sorongon noted that they will release the result of their investigation.

Sorongon said they are now coordinating with the property owner to identify the responsible persons on said event.

He said the result of the investigation will be forwarded to the City Legal Office (CLO).

"We are so disappointed because we should be responsible to prevent the spread of the virus. Any gatherings will expose people, especially those at risk, to get Covid. We are trying our very best to put everything to a new normal so we have to cooperate and we have to sustain everything," he added.

Sorongon said they are doing their best so that Bacolod will not go back to lockdown.

As of February 15, Bacolod City has a total of 5, 802 Covid-19 cases. Of the number, 5, 539 patients already recovered, 77 active cases with 187 deaths.
