BECAUSE of jealousy, a husband killed his wife using a hammer in Sitio Lucay 2, Barangay Camingawan, Kabankalan City.
The victim was identified by the Kabankalan Police as Delbeth Laurente, 40, while the suspect was identified as Saler Laurente, 44, who was her husband.
Based on the report of Kabankalan Police Station, the incident happened early in the morning on February 16, 2021, inside their house after the couple quarreled.
The couple's children reportedly saw their mother bathe in her own blood and that their father admitted to them that he killed her using a hammer. The wife sustained wounds on her head and hands.
The report said the suspect had been drinking alcoholic beverages the past few days and was accusing his wife of being with another man without basis that led to their quarrel.
The suspect voluntarily surrendered himself to Barangay Chief Tanod Leonardo Traya, Sr., who endorsed him to Kabankalan Police Station.
