6 residents infected, 38 recovered from Covid-19 in Oro

SIX residents of Cagayan de Oro have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, all of which are local transmissions, bringing the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the city to 3,703.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the six new local cases, four are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, one local index case and one local authorized person outside residence (Apor).

Of the 3,703 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 422 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 3,281 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 3,281 local cases consist of 186 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), 1,732 local index cases and 1,362 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 331 active cases, 54 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city and 277 outpatients.

The city also registered 38 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered." This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 3,194.

Of the figure, 302 are LSIs, 119 are ROFs, and 2,773 are local cases (community: 2,344; Apors: 429).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 178.
