Pangan: A balanced, proactive environment

At Close Range

CLARK Development Corporation (CDC), now with its new head, Manuel R. Gaerlan, already has an active environment upkeep program, but it partners with adjacent local government units to keep its surroundings neat and orderly.

With Mabalacat City, CDC opens its spaces for development and strategic use as the LGU's mayor calls for responsible use of its open and public spaces. It recognizes the Keep Clark clean (and green?) drive initiative of the Greater Clark Visitors' Bureau which kicked off the drive on February 18 at the Clark picnic grounds.

The program, which involves the GCVB, aims to cover all public areas in Clark with picnic ground as its initial or pilot location for the project.

It has been observed that when visitors flock to the picnic ground, they leave behind a mountain of trash and continue to do this unsavory behavior every time they visit. It is therefore very timely that the LGU of Mabalacat City which has territorial jurisdiction over the area and CDC maintain a cautious posture to keep the area and its surroundings clean and presentable.

Mabalacat City, through its Mayor, Crisostomo C. Garbo, is an active partner of Clark Development Corporation in enhancing its surroundings and environment. It has programs to this effect and purpose.

We had a nice trip to San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan last Sunday, February 21, 2021. On board my son's (Joben) service vehicle, I with wife Josie and another son Jerome, we proceeded to San Jose del Monte City (our first trip ever to that city), passing through Bocaue and Sta. Maria.

After Joben's talk with the officers of Benjamin Village, we proceeded to Grotto Church of Lourdes. This church is a unique structure with a driveway going up its second floor and a tower reminiscent of European churches.

After mass, we went to SM City San Jose del Monte with mall manager Jose Mari Correa hosting us to a Chinese lunch at David's Tea House where we had a sumptuous lunch. JM Correa is an engaging and eloquent conversationalist, having had financial analyst background at Bonifacio Global City, where he worked before moving to SM.

My thanks to SVP Bien Mateo and SAVP Junias Eusebio for their assistance even on a Sunday at that!
