THE local government of Magalang has issued a traffic advisory amid the ongoing widening and rehabilitation of a major road linking the town to the nearby Arayat town in Pampanga and Concepion in Tarlac.
The construction of the Arayat-Magalang-Concepcion Road is expected to cause light to moderate to traffic congestion, according to the Municipal Government.
"Asahan ang katamtaman hanggang sa mabigat na daloy ng trapiko sa kahabaan ng Ninoy Aquino Highway (Magalang- Arayat Rd to Magalang-Conception Rd) dahil sa ginagawang road widening project sa naturang highway," the local government unit (LGU) stated.
The LGU also advised the commuters to take alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.
"Kung maari ay gamitin po natin ang mga alternatibong daan para makaiwas sa abala," the Municipal Government said.
The LGU, under the leadership of Mayor Romy Pecson, also appealed for understanding from the public. "Hinihingi po namin ang inyong pang unawa."
Magalang is a first-class agricultural town and host to the Pampanga State Agricultural College, regional training center of the Philippine National Police, Central Luzon Drug Rehabilitation Center and Mount Arayat eco-tourism park, among others.
