#SupportLocal: Aesthetically pleasing, delectable cakes from OBakes Cakes

MOIST dark chocolate cake topped with velvety buttercream frosting on the inside, and delicately hand-painted leaf patterns on the outside with a stargazer edible flower topper.

This aesthetically pleasing and delectable cake is one of the many breathtaking, too-pretty-to-eat creations of Odette Ancheta, the brains and hands behind OBakes Cakes.

OBakes Cakes started in 2019 with cookies as its first products.

"It all started as a hobby from baking cookies to cupcakes to cakes," Odette shared.

Odette's husband Joie and son JD have always been supportive of her hobby-turned-baking business. Thus, she was inspired to explore more flavors, designs, and creations.

Odette is meticulous in creating her cakes.

"As much as possible, I do not accept rush orders because I want to take the time in creating my cakes to ensure their quality in terms of taste and appearance," Odette explained.

Odette has developed her own recipe of condensed milk buttercream, which is smooth and silky just like an Italian or Swiss meringue buttercream but without the eggs.

Aside from her custom-made occasion cakes, Odette's cupcakes are also popular for their unique designs and irresistible yumminess.

Her "milestone cupcakes" were a constant for her following of mommies who celebrate their babies' monthly birthdays.

These mommies are part of OBakes Cakes organic following on social media, or simply put, an army of repeat order customers.

When the pandemic happened, OBakes Cakes creations became more in demand.

"I noticed that people prefer to have intimate celebrations at home during the pandemic, so my creations were perfect for the occasion," Odette shared.

Made with love, OBakes Cakes offer a variety of cakes and pastries including cookies, cupcakes and brownies.
