INDEED, a milestone in your life is about to come. I admit I am both happy and terrified because common knowledge dictates that for men, "life begins at forty."
But I will choose to be optimistic about you. In fact, despite all the trials that we have gone through in our two decades of being together, I have remained positive. Lest, I would have walked out the door. Maybe that is what sticking it out means. Let's not forget what Wendy reminded us: "You promised to brother Jesus."
On your 40th birthday, I only wish that you will feel surrounded by the warmth and love of the people who treasure you the most—your kids and me. On your special day, please feel that God has blessed your life with so much happiness despite all the different challenges and problems that you have experienced in life. We are all here for you and we love you beyond measure.
I cherish this journey I've taken with you by my side. Though at certain times, we regret some of our actions and decisions, what is important is that we learn from them and use them to better what we have together.
As we grow older together, my heart’s wish is for us to never forget that spark, that magical feeling that will make us young once again. Something that may be lost because of that stressful, routine life that we live now. I wish that the little things will be there to remind us how wonderful our love for one another has been throughout those years and that we have no choice but to see each other’s hair turn gray and see our grandchildren together. When I think of this, I remind myself that I am very lucky to have you with me, and there’s no one I want to spend the rest of my life with but you.
