Sangil: GMA and Nanay Baby

I AM no seer. I am not Nostradamus. And definitely, I am not related to the late Madam Auring. Hindi ako manghuhula, but there were occasions that I can predict future events. I proved it in my assessments before the 2019 elections.

Do you remember what I said in this space that former President and House of Representatives Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo will take a leave of absence and will field her eldest son Mikee to run for congress? It happened. Now I may venture again to say that Mikee may settle to become vice governor and give way to his mom. Madam Gloria maybe speaker again. And what about incumbent Vice Governor Nanay Baby Pineda?

She may be drafted to be a nominee of the planned party list called NANAY. She is a sure winner once the party list which will take care of solo parents and abandoned mothers will be okayed by Commission on Elections. I will also predict that Congressman Rimpy Bondoc will take some rest and allow his sister former Congresswoman Anna York Bondoc Sagum to be fielded in the fourth congressional district.

To recall, I also wrote that Congressman Rimpy Bondoc may no longer run for governor and instead seek re-election and wanted to be the next majority floor leader in the House of Representatives. After Congressman Alan Peter Cayetano was trounced by Lord Allan Velasco in the bitter fight for speakership, Bondoc got what he wanted. He is now a majority leader. It happened. My bragging right. I also predicted then that it will be Bacolor Mayor Jomar Hizon who will face Vice Governor Dennis Pineda. It happened. Hizon lost.

Back to present time. At this point though, it will be only be known in October this year if GMA is running again in the second congressional district and Nanay Baby will join her cumadre in the House of Representatives. In case you don’t know, those running for political office will troop to the Commission on Election offices this coming October to file their certificates of candidacy.

Again, I remember my frequent meetings with these two beautiful ladies who served their constituents so well and had the opportunity to ask them what most curious people have in mind. Both GMA and Nanay Baby can fill a library of their accomplishments. They are both outstanding and well-loved by their cabalens. Their care for the Kapampangan constituency will surely be missed if both will walk out of public service.

TIDBITS: The three cities, Angeles, Mabalacat and San Fernando already set aside funds for the purchase of the vaccines. Kudos especially to mayors Pogi Lazatin and Cris Garbo. In a meeting with the two, they told me what to do when the vaccines will arrive. Simulations were already done in the two cities...I was fortunate enough to attend a Metro Clark Advisory Council Meeting recently and I gained first-hand information how Pampanga and Tarlac’s preparations for the vaccines’ rollout. Significant was the presentation of Governor Dennis Pineda... "Who dropped the ball this time" queried Senator Frank Drilon. All countries in Southeast Asia are already inoculating their people except us. I think more than half the people in charge of this activity are square pegs in a round hole.
