OKAY. Everyone knows Nostradamus. The guy who made some accurate predictions. Most people thought that his looks into the future would have happened and ended at a certain time. However, if his scholars are to be believed, there is a lot more. In fact, some people who study his predictions have come up with a bunch of 2021 prophecies. You can take them any way you want. With a grain of salt or you can go screaming and run around in circles because the predictions are dire. Let us look at one of them.
A Zombie apocalypse. Yup, a full-blown The Night of the Living Dead extravaganza. According to the scholars, a Russian scientist will make a virus by accident that will turn people into zombies. So first off, a lockdown will not be possible. With zombies on a rampage, no one will be safe, even if you have numerous checkpoints and practice social distancing. One cannot really hope to kill zombies by spraying them with 70 percent alcohol. The FM Pass will be a joke because how can people thwart a zombie swarm by showing their FM passes with MWF or T-Th validities. And besides, the barangay leaders in charge of handing out these passes would have been long gone. No one will check your temperature because you will have no more temperature. And you no longer have to wash your hands every hour because you will have no more hands. People will stop complaining about the ayuda. There will be no more liquor ban because frankly all the liquor will be gone by that time. The DQR or whatever QR would also be inutile. What good is your smiling face with the corresponding barcode in front of a horde of the half-dead. Face masks and shields will be utterly useless. I mean think about it. It does not matter one bit if your mask is made of cloth or the N95 variety. Zombies take no prisoners. Same thing with face shields. Or the PPE. You will be mangled and swallowed, face shield and all. Nothing can withstand frenzied zombies.
So World War Z is inevitable and the night of the Living Dead could very well be a reality and I do not know if there will be a vaccine for that. I really doubt if we can have the time to discuss the efficacy of these vaccines. And even if we did find a cure, the next big question is how will we distribute vaccines if zombies will be will running around like in some orgy. No more ECQ, GCQ, MGCQ. Just Z. ZA for zombies all around. ZIM for zombies in Moderation. ZPT for zombies panic time.
Of course, the predictions for 2021 do not end there. There are more if you believe the scholars. They include famine, a comet slamming earth, asteroid hits, solar storms, and of course, a devastating earthquake.
Will all these happen? Let us all hope and pray that they do not because if that does happen, we might as well be zombies.
