Rebap boosts professionalism in real estate sales

THE Real Estate Brokers Association of the Philippines, Inc. (Rebap) undertakes significant strides that will boost the dignity and capability of its sales workforce.

Engaging in the selling of real estate properties is vital in the personal growth of the sales practitioners and likewise ensures the general welfare of the industry, their clientele and the community they serve.

Rebap Metro Bacolod Chapter spearheaded by its President Maricar A. Octaviano conducted a 3-day 12 units CPD Seminar for Sales Persons (Entry Level) which was attended by over a hundred various professionals, interested and qualified individuals Wednesday, February 24 until Friday, February 26.

Manolito Gaerlan Nebre, Rebap National Official served as resource speaker on the Real Estate Brokerage Seminar for Salespersons emphasizing on Republic Act 9646 known as the Practice of the Real Estate Service Act of the Philippines, creating for the purpose a professional regulatory Board of Real Estate Service and providing funds thereof which is currently the subject of a proposed amendment in the House of Representatives.

The objective of the seminar is to accredit potential salespersons who can serve as force multipliers of the existing robust workforce of the real estate industry.

They want to ensure that all persons involved in selling real estate properties are legitimate and accredited by both PRC and DHSUD (former HLURB).

Nebre has presented an extensive discussion on RA 9646 that enabled the attendees to obtain the necessary knowledge, skills, strategy, and guidance towards the fulfillment of decent and satisfactory real estate dealings.

This will help ensure the creation of a community of dignified, skilled, and professional salespersons, appraisers, and real estate brokers in the community.

Although there are still a lot of people who engage in real estate brokerage, if they continue not to be mindful of the consequences of their acts, this might land them to a substantial fine or even imprisonment.

With this direction taken by Rebap which continuously educates and accredits potential salespersons, this presence of illegitimate ones will be slowly eased.

Nebre cited that land comes from the Supreme Being and its inventory was made by the Creator Himself and not from factories, thus real estate practice and profession will never cease. It will continue to be passed on from one generation to another, he said.

Practitioners are likewise mandated to observe ethical standards in the exercise of their tasks.

The officials concerned urged the participants to learn fully well what has been discussed in the seminar as it will surely guide them in performing a decent and responsible real estate practice in the future.

On the other hand, the birthing of the upcoming Certified Accredited Real Estate Salespersons or Cares, an association of real estate salespersons in Negros Occidental is a pilot project initiated by the local Chapter led by President Octaviano who currently holds a top marketing post in the Active Group, Inc., a prominent real estate company in the Philippines.

Also the chapter has started to laydown frameworks in the creation of BS Real Estate Management course with Carlos Hilado Memorial State College (CHMSC) and University of Negros Occidental Recoletos in Bacolod in their plight of giving the aspiring real estate salespersons an opportunity to upgrade and become licensed and registered real estate brokers, not just agents. With this, Ms. Octaviano is seeking full support and prayers in these huge endeavors of the chapter which they are undertaking.
