JOINT police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives have arrested the top 1 drug personality “regional level” in an anti-drug operation in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, an official announced Friday, February 26, 2021.
Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspect as Jewel Redoblado Montesclaros, 48, a resident of Purok Nawasa in Napolan village, Pagadian City, the capital of Zamboanga Sibugay province.
Duco said Montesclaros was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 5:25 p.m. Thursday in Purok Malipayon, Roxas Street in San Francisco village, Pagadian City.
Seized from the suspect were some 2.5 grams of suspected shabu packed in two heat-sealed plastic sachets with an estimated worth of P17,000 and marked money.
Duco said the suspect was temporarily detained at a PDEA lock-up cell in Pagadian City, while an appropriate case for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against him. (SunStar Zamboanga)
