PHOENIXSUPER LPG Fuel Masters head coach Topex Robinson says he is excited to work with powerhouse forward Vic Manuel, who was recently acquired by the team acquired in exchange for Cebuano point guard Brian Heruela and three draft picks.
The two already have a working relationship that dates back to the PBA D-League and the Alaska Aces, where they worked together when Robinson was still an assistant coach.
“Vic is a proven winner and a star in his own right. He will surely make a direct impact on our team,” said Robinson.
Manuel is expected to slot in nicely with the departure of forward stud Calvin Abueva whom the team traded to Magnolia in exchange for point guard Chris Banchero. Manuel led Alaska in scoring during the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup with averages of 15.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.2.
“I am excited to be coaching him again. He will practice with us as soon as the result of his swab test comes out,” Robinson said. (JNP)
