SEVERAL infrastructures are being constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) inside the Camp Julian Olivas in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, which houses the Police Regional Office (PRO) Central Luzon.

DPWH Undersecretary Rafael "Pie" Yabut, who led the recent inspection of construction activities, said five projects amounting to over P121 million have been poured by the agency inside the police camp.

This included the construction of the Bayanihan Multi-purpose Building, which has a budget of P37,470,481; the Regional Headquarters Support Unit with funding of P31,226,196; and rehabilitation of staff house amounting to P1,841,074.

As one of the frontliners against Covid-19, DPWH is also constructing a two-story quarantine facility with a budget of P26,222,114; as well as the construction of road network and drainage system amounting to P24,982,000, which is expected to alleviate flooding and provide relief to policemen in the region.

Yabut said the projects are being implemented under DPWH's Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad program, which is in partnership with the Department of National Defense.

PRO-Central Luzon Director Brigadier General Valeriano De Leon expressed gratitude to DPWH and Secretary Mark Villar for providing such programs for policemen of Central Luzon.

"These projects do not only elevate the quality of working environment of our troops, but also boost their morale to better serve and protect the people," he said.
