A TRUE-BLOODED Cavitena, now a Kapampangan by heart. Indeed, Erika Sadac embraces the kapampangan culture as she establishes her own name. In fact, she's the host of the upcoming show on One Media TV44, which will be aired on March 6 at 7 p.m. Dubbed as "One Dish Plus," the newest cooking show in Central Luzon will feature various dishes prepared by renowned chefs.

We had the chance to have a tête-à-tête with Miss Sadac at the enormous kitchen of ADM Catering which is owned by Mr. Asuncion Diosdado Miclat and Mrs. Sonia Asuncion. At her taping break, we shoot the first question....Tell us about this upcoming show of One Media TV44.

"One Dish Plus is a cooking show that will feature well known kapampangan chef. we will feature their stories, kung panno nila narrating yung status nila before they became well known chef. Gusto rin kasi natin ma-feature yung mga pinagdaanan nila bago sila naging sikat na chef. Para naman yung mga normal na tao na mahilig lang magluto e, ma-inspire sila and turning their passion into a career for themselves.”

With all the cooking shows that came up on the local and national tv, how different is One Dish Plus from all the rest?

"As I've said po earlier, this show is more of inspiring others. Aside from cooking sophisticated dishes viewers learn how to cook properly, it can also motivate them . Kumbaga, kung meron man silang ina-idolize na chef, mamo-motivate sila to strive harder to achieve their dreams and aspirations," she explains.

In Pampanga, mostly men are better cook than women, what can she comment on this?

"Ah no! Siguro it just so happen na kasi when you enter a professional kitchen I assume yung stress level, yung pagod at hirap sa loob ng kitchen, kaya siguro maraming male chef and pinu-push ang ganung career. But considering sa mga housewives, I can see majority are female chef." she stressed.

Incidentally, Miss Sadac organizes events and calls her company Details Matter Event Coordination. When asked what edge does Details Matter Event Coordination has over other event organizers....

She replied,"Details Matter is a fresh team of creative, dynamic, efficient and amiable individuals who are all passionate in making every wedding a dream come true for the bride and groom. We truly believe that every detail matters, that’s why we specialize in giving inspirations and suggesting creative ideas which will show your personality and reflect the uniqueness of your relationship making your day exceptionally unforgettable. Having a unique and well managed wedding doesn’t have to break the bank! Besides, bawat supplier naniniwala akong may kanya kanya kayong market. Basta let's just do our best to every event, kasi yan ang puhunan natin.

Before the pandemic, event organizing is a lucrative business. At these trying times how has her company cope up with the situation?

"Actually, it greatly affected us, itong lockdown. Grabe talaga! But definitely may aasahan naman kami. kasi yung mga nag-book before the pandemic hindi naman lahat nagcancel, yung iba postponed lang. During the pandemic, of course, andun and anxieties, stress yung workaholic ka tapos bigla ka na lang walang gagawin at kailangna mo mag-stay sa bahay. Although, Im taking everything naman as a blessing indisguise. Kasi I was able to bond wuth my family, Ngayon talagang nakakasama ko sila ng matagal. Di tulad dati. Sa totoo lang, ngayon nagawa kong maglinis ng buong bahay which I dont do before kasi nga busy sa mga events. Tapos , now I have the time to cook for my family. So itong 2021 hindi ko puwedeng burahin sa calendar year ko kasi this is the only time na nagkaroon ako ng quality time with my family,” she excitingly narrates.

We've also heard that Miss Sadac is into baking...

"Actually, I never had the experience to bake. Nitong pandemic, sinubukan kong magluto. Tapos nag-try akong mag-bake. Una gumawa ako ng cinnamon roll. Tapos may mga bumibili na. then may mga orders na rin. there was a time na ang dami na talagang orders. May mga araw na we had to bake around 500 pieces. Kumbaga, nagsimula sa ganun tapos nanganak na lang ng ibang breads, ganun lang.”

With her busy schedules how does Miss Sadac manages to do all these task?

"Time management lang po and surprisingly, I'm doing it with flying colors!" she quipped
