A TOTAL of P12.2 million worth of illegal drugs were seized during a three-day operation from Feb. 24, to 26, 2021.
The Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO) confiscated 75 kilos of marijuana and shabu worth P10 million during the Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operation, while anti-narcotics operatives of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) seized P2.7 million worth of illegal drugs.
The CCPO drug enforcement unit caught 176 drug suspects, 62 of whom had been listed as high-value targets.
Police stations under the CPPO apprehended a total of 114 drug suspects.
Officials said most of the arrested drug suspects were new faces.
A total of 201 persons were also arrested for illegal gambling — 75 in Cebu City and 126 in Cebu Province.
Sixteen persons were arrested for illegal possession of firearms.
The CPPO caught 13 most wanted persons who were included in the total of 167 persons nabbed during the implementation of warrants of arrest.
The CPPO also caught 1,057 motorists for traffic violations such as driving without license and registration at various checkpoints. (AYB / KAL)
