53IB fetes office, 7 enlisted men for exemplary service

THE Army's 53rd Infantry Battalion (IB) has awarded medal to an officer and seven enlisted personnel of the command for exemplary performance and loyalty to duty.

Lieutenant Colonel Jo-ar Herrara, 53IB commander, led the awarding of Military Commendation Medal last week in a ceremony at Camp David Sabido that houses the battalion headquarters in Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.

Herrera said the awardees were: First Lieutenant Oliver Carmen, Corporal Edmar Cullamar, Corporal Jerry Badilles Jr., Corporal Nelvin Albezo, Corporal Dionard Jauculan, Private First Class Peter Paul Martinez and Private First Class Arnold Lumangcag.

He said the award is an acknowledgement of their service and dedication for exemplary performance and loyalty to duty that led to the successful conduct of series of bloodletting activities from 4th quarter of 2019 to the 3rd quarter of 2020 in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

The activities were held in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross and Rotary Club of Pagadian City. (SunStar Zamboanga)
